There is really nothing new except a couple minor bug fixes. However, it is built specifically for 64- or 32-bit Snow Leopard. My job, which has taken a great deal from me over the last year, may be easing up headed into winter. I hope to get back into the app for some much-needed additions.

For the handful of users out there I apologize for the lack of updates to this software. My day job takes all my time and quite honestly my geocaching activities have suffered as well. I honestly don’t know if I’ll get back to this app and do anything meaningful to it given the availability of other more comprehensive options out there. Geobsession was an app I cranked out over a weekend mostly for my own use, but decided to make available for others.
Should I decide to continue with this effort I will certainly post the news here. I’m also considering donating it as open source if I get the time to clean it up a bit.

I made a quick fix to a bug a user pointed out regarding truncation of longitude and latitude waypoint digits, in some cases.

Sorry for the annoying popups every day folks. I fixed the version numbering mismatched that caused the updated to think you needed an update always.

Now that the core app is relatively stable I want to concentrate on locking down the type of data collected so the schema won’t change again.
Other items for the near future:
- Preferences panel.
- Support for multiple waypoints for a cache (ordered private caches).
- Ability to link public caches together as part of a series of related caches.
- Other suggestions and improvements suggested by testers and users.

I fixed a bunch of nagging little bugs in this release, and made a major change to the way data is stored and organized. This allows waypoints to be assigned to multiple groups.
So now the “all waypoints” group is your master group, and you may categorize your waypoints into any number of other groups for convenience. See the release notes for details.

This is the very first public release of the new geocaching software for the Mac. The site is crude but will grow as the beta testers provide feedback and the feature list grows. Please see the About page for details on the software.
